Error: ORA-017: invalid username/password; logon denied – TimeXtender Support

Symptoms:

Testing an Oracle global database connection results in an error message.

Error Message:

ORA-017: invalid username/password; logon denied

Underlying Problem:

The text-based format of the global database connection allows you to enter an invalid set of security parameters.

Solution:

Switch off integrated security in the global database connection when specifying Oracle user name and password.
