End of support for TimeXtender 20.10
Support for TimeXtender 20.10 will end in February 2027 as it has been replaced by TimeXtender Data Integration and TimeXtender Classic. See Important information regarding TimeXtender 20.10, TimeXtender Data Integration, and TimeXtender Classic for more information.
We released the new TimeXtender Classic in March 2026 as a direct decendant of 20.10 - which has also been referred to as "Classic" - with a focus on on-prem solutions based on Microsoft SQL. It's sibling, TimeXtender Data Integration, is built to take full advantage of cloud-based infrastructure such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and Snowflake. Visit our new support site to download the new applications.
As part of this work, we've introduced the TimeXtender Enhanced data source providers as our first-party solution for connecting to data, and moved CData data source providers to a paid model, effective 6 March 2026. To avoid the fee, migrate your data sources to the TimeXtender Enhanced data source providers. See Extended Support for CData Providers for more information.

TimeXtender 20.10 Prerequisites and Installation Instructions
See TimeXtender Prerequisites for a list of the prerequisites for installing TimeXtender 20.10.
For new installations, How to Configure Your Server for TimeXtender describes the overall process of installing TimeXtender 20.10 on a new machine.
See the First Time Set-Up of TimeXtender or Upgrade TimeXtender from a previous version for basic installation and upgrade instructions.
Important information when upgrading to 20.10.53.
ODX Server version 20.10.53 and later does not have the local "backlog" component of the application metadata repository. For that reason, an upgrade to 20.10.53 or later cannot be rolled back.
Before proceeding with the upgrade from a previous version, you must ensure your local backlog is fully synchronized with the cloud-based repository metadata, or you could lose saved progress in your ODX. To do this, follow the instructions below for each ODX Service Project and each ODX Service:
- Open your TimeXtender client and right-click the ODX Service, and choose 'Shut down ODX Service'.
- At the bottom you will have the Last synchronization timestamp.
- If the timestamp is current (i.e. representing the last time you made a change in your solution) your repository is in sync, so no need for further action.
- If the timestamp is a while back in time and you are not sure that it is synchronized, you can force a synchronize by doing a minor change like adding a dummy task or edit a data source. Then wait a few minutes and check the Last synchronization timestamp again.
- You can also double check the Windows Event Viewer and check for error messages to ensure you do not have any synchronization issues.
- When you are confident the backlog is synchronized you should shut down the ODX service and you are ready to upgrade.
If you encounter any issues or have questions, please contact support and be sure to include your Portal ID found in the TimeXtender Portal (click Admin Basic Info in the menu).
