Error: "The TimeXtender Server service on Local Computer started and then stopped"

Symptoms

You receive an error message like the following when attempting to start the TX Server service:

The timeXtender Server <Version> service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

Cause

The necessary pre-requisites are not in place.

Resolution

Ensure that the following pre-requisites are in place to allow the the server service to start:

  • It needs to log in as a properly setup OS account that has the necessary permissions and configurations. The easiest way to determine that is to log on using the account, starting timeXtender and see if it is possible to deploy and execute the project.
  • A local environment acting as a server on a specified port must be created in the repository:

Notes

The Server Service is being used in a multiple environment setup and is capable of importing a project sent from the multiple environment transfer dialogue within timeXtender. It can also do a remote deployment and execution of a project.

    Hi Johann,

It is in the 'ribbon' on the Tools tab:

You need to have the Multiple Environtment Deployment feature in your license to see it.
